PRESIDENT
With over 12 years of youth coaching experience across multiple sports and three years dedicated to lacrosse, TJ Tupponce brings passion, leadership, and a deep respect for the game to IGNITE Lacrosse. A multi-sport athlete throughout his youth and high school years, TJ understands the value of developing well-rounded athletes both on and off the field.
As a founder of IGNITE Lacrosse, TJ leads with purpose—blending modern coaching techniques with a strong connection to the sport’s roots. He is also a traditional lacrosse stick maker, committed to preserving the game’s cultural heritage and sharing its deeper meaning with the next generation.
TJ is dedicated to developing confident, respectful athletes who embody the tradition, spirit, and power of lacrosse.
VICE PRESIDENT
Starting lacrosse in 8th grade, Amy Hood quickly fell in love with the speed and excitement of the game, transitioning from softball to lacrosse. She played at Coatesville High School in Pennsylvania and continued at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), earning three 2nd team All-PSAC honors as a midfielder.
After college, Amy coached JV lacrosse and earned a M.Ed. in Health & Physical Education. She began teaching at Dover High School in Delaware, where she led the JV and Varsity teams before moving to California, where she worked with the Redding Lacrosse Wildfire program.
In Florida, Amy coached JV and Varsity lacrosse at Dwyer High School for seven years and was inducted into IUP’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019. After moving to Virginia in 2022, she taught Health and Physical Education at King William High School and officiates girls lacrosse. Amy is passionate about starting a girls’ high school lacrosse program at King William and is excited to contribute to IGNITE Lacrosse.
SECRETARY
As a citizen of the Upper Mattaponi Tribe, Lana Real is passionate about cultural preservation, youth development, and community building. Although new to the sport, Lana’s family plays "shinny," a traditional Indigenous game similar to lacrosse, which has sparked their excitement to celebrate and expand their knowledge of traditional sports with IGNITE.
Lana is actively involved in her tribal community and has coached youth soccer with King William County Parks & Recreation. With experience in governance as the Legislative Clerk to the Upper Mattaponi Tribal Council and as a board member of the Library of Virginia, Lana brings expertise in non-profit development, event coordination, and strategic planning. She is committed to supporting young athletes and looks forward to helping them grow through IGNITE Lacrosse!
TREASURER
A Bachelor’s in Social Work from VCU and over 20 years in the child welfare field have shaped Ivey Tupponce’s passion for serving others. Along the way, she discovered an entrepreneurial spirit, helping launch several businesses, including a children’s therapeutic day treatment program, an online sports merchandise business, a preschool program, and IGNITE Lacrosse.
Marriage to TJ Tupponce, IGNITE’s founder, introduced her to a deep love for sports, particularly lacrosse. With three children heavily involved in athletics, she can often be found on the sidelines cheering them on, supporting TJ as he coaches, and capturing moments through photography.
As Treasurer and co-founder of IGNITE Lacrosse, her dedication to community, child welfare, service, and business development makes her a valuable board member and advocate for the organization.
BOARD MEMBER
Originally from Seneca Falls, NY, Roy Ashbaugh began playing lacrosse at around 10 years old as a way to stay active during hockey’s off-season. He quickly fell in love with the sport, making it his top priority. After moving to Towson, MD, in 6th or 7th grade, Roy played for his high school team until his family moved to Virginia in 1985, where lacrosse was unfamiliar. Eventually, men's leagues were formed, and Roy played for several years.
In 2011, Roy began coaching for the Hanover Blackhawks, joining Lee-Davis High School in 2015 as the JV head coach and becoming the varsity coach in 2018. He recently retired after the 2024 season. His position was goalkeeper.
Roy is excited to be part of building and teaching the next generation of lacrosse players!
BOARD MEMBER
Corey McConville's lifelong passion for sports began with playing football, basketball, and soccer in high school, leading to an opportunity to play college soccer at Longwood. This sparked his love for coaching, and he spent his first 15 years in education coaching soccer and basketball at various levels. After transitioning to administration, Corey served as an athletic director and principal before becoming the Director of Secondary Education in Westmoreland.
In 2016, Corey and his family moved to King William, a community they have grown to love. He served as principal at King William High School for eight years before discovering his true calling as pastor of McKendree Methodist Church.
Corey has witnessed firsthand how sports can help children grow into better adults. While he may not have a background in lacrosse, he is excited to support its introduction to the King William community!
